Two men are in an Area Hospital after a stabbing and police shooting in a North Austin neighborhood.

APD Chief Brian Manley said when police arrived at the home in the Austin Woods area there was one man on the ground with several stab wounds and another with a knife in hand and making his way towards the responding officer.

"Our officer as it appears again from the body-worn footage to back up and retreat and continues to back step in the street while giving continued commands to drop it.  The suspect again does not listen and continues to advance toward our officer, at which point the officer discharged his weapon," said Manley

Manley said the suspect is in serious but stable condition, the stabbing victim in critical but stable condition.
