TxDOT Extends I-35 Paving Through Wednesday

The Texas Department of Transportation will extend the closure of the I-35 northbound lower deck through Wednesday night for paving operations, weather permitting.

Stormy weather delayed paving operations on Sunday, so crews will need additional time to finish the work.

During the closure, I-35 northbound mainlane traffic will be detoured to the upper deck at Martin Luther King Boulevard. Drivers wishing to access Manor Road (exit 235B), Dean Keeton, or 32nd – 381/2 Streets (exit 236), will need to exit at Martin Luther King Boulevard (exit 235A), and stay on the frontage road.

The upper deck closure that was planned for Wednesday night has been cancelled this week and will be rescheduled.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the upcoming closures. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes as delays are expected. TxDOT asks the traveling public to remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
