UPDATE: FBI agents thwart a possible mass shooting at a St. John apartment complex

A potential mass shooting was thwarted earlier this week at an apartment complex on St. John.  According to documents filed in the US District Court, the FBI was tipped off that Steven Boehle was planning the shooting.  When agents raided his apartment they found three guns and more than 1,100 rounds of ammo.  Boehle was also recently denied the purchase of a gun after failing a background check.  Records show Bohle was planning to carryout a mass shooting at that complex, slaughtering his neighbors and likely many others.  Due to a domestic abuse conviction years ago, Bohle was denied the purchase of a gun three time when a background check rooted out the conviction.  He lied on all three applications claiming he was never convicted of any crime. As of now, Bohle is only charged with filing a false statement and unlawfully being in possession of a firearm.
