Just after midnight, Williamson County deputies were dispatched to a reported accident on SH 45 near CR 172 in Round Rock. Upon arrival, deputies found a pickup truck pulling a boat. There were a total of six people. According to preliminary investigation, an altercation occurred in the back seat of the vehicle between a man and woman. The driver, Joe Harvey, pulled the vehicle over. Both the man and woman exited the vehicle and continued to argue.
During the altercation, Harvey got back into the vehicle and started to drive off. Both were knocked down and as the vehicle drove off, the tires of the truck and boat ran over both victims.
The male, which has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim, Heather Harvey, was transported to St. David’s Hospital in Round Rock with serious internal injuries.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit along with the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol and Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation.
Heather Harvey and Joe Harvey are siblings.
