Westlake Student Arrested for Ominous Social Media Post

On Thursday, Westlake High School officials were alerted to a post on Snapchat that ultimately led to the arrest of a student.

According to Principal Steve Ramsey, school resource officers were alerted to the post and quickly began investigating.  The post in question involves a picture of guns loaded into a backpack with the caption: "Ready for school."  Other districts began investigating as well to determine whether or not the post was made by one of their students, but Ramsey later confirmed that the post was made by one of his students in Westlake.

The student was arrested but a subsequent search turned up no gun, either on campus or in his possession.

Ramsey says he does believe the campus is safe and no students or staff are in danger.
