Wilco CPA pleads guilty of preparing false returns

A Williamson County CPA pleads guilty to preparing false tax returns earning him more than a half million dollars in ill-gotten gains.

IRS Special Agent Kurt Bertram says James Kadlec operated the business "mobile CPA" out of his home and over a four year period filed numerous false returns.

Bertram says when the IRS paid out the refund, part of the money would be directed into an account owned by Kadlec. He faces up to three years in prison and a 250 thousand dollar fine plus restitution when he's sentenced later this year.
