Early voting for the November 7, 2017, Joint General and Special Elections begins on Monday, October 23.  Early voting is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from October 23 through November 1 and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. November 2 and 3. There is no voting on Sunday.

During early voting, registered voters are allowed to vote at any polling location in Williamson County. The early voting schedule along with dates and times for the county's locations is posted below and on the County Elections website at www.wilco.org/elections

Early voting is a convenient way to vote as you can select the date and location to cast your ballot and avoid long lines on Election Day. Select the best polling location before you head out the door by checking the wait times at various polling locations on the Elections website at www.wilco.org/votinglinetimes

Registered voters can look up their voter information and sample ballot online as well. Sample ballots can be printed and marked to take to the polling location with you. The Elections website also can locate the closest early voting or Election Day polling location to you.

Voters are required to present an approved form of identification in order to vote in all Texas elections.  Currently, Texas voters who do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of the seven forms of approved photo ID have additional options when casting their ballots. The Texas Secretary of State's Office has updated the new requirements on www.VoteTexas.gov and their agency website www.sos.state.tx.us. The following are the seven forms of approved photo identification at the polling location:

  • Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  • Texas handgun license issued by DPS
  • United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
  • United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
  • United States passport
