Woman Drives Off Downtown Austin Parking Garage

Austin-Travis County EMS was called into downtown Austin Thursday morning after a car plummeted 6-7 stories from a parking garage near 6th and Brazos to the ground below.  The car landed in an alley and hit a gas line, prompting crews to shut off the gas during the investigation.

In that same garage last year, a car drove off an upper level and dangled precariously for hours because a steel cable wrapped itself around the axle.

The driver is reportedly a woman in her 30s who suffered potentially serious injuries.  She's been transported to the hospital for treatment.
