Round Rock police were involved in an othernight shooting.  At approximately 3am, Officers responded to the 1900 block of Red Rock Drive for a report of a suspicious person wearing dark clothing and walking around vehicles. Officers made contact with an adult white male matching the reported description. An investigation was initiated after contact was made. It was determined that the subject had an active warrant issued for his arrest. A struggle ensued and the subject produced a gun and shot at Officers. Officers returned fire, striking the subject. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital. The last update we received was that he was in critical condition. Officers did sustain minor injuries and were checked at the scene by medical personnel. Officers were not shot. The Officers have been placed on standard leave.
