Ohio theme park says it topped shaved-heads record

MASON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio amusement park says it has set a record for the most heads shaved simultaneously. Kings Island says 213 heads were shaved Friday by hair stylists at the park north of Cincinnati. The event is part of the park's effort to raise awareness and money to fight cancer. Guinness World Records says the current record of 182 heads shaved simultaneously was achieved by an Australian cancer group in March. Some attendees had personal reasons for taking part. One father and son pair said the boy's grandmother is fighting brain cancer. One of their stylists had herself lost a family member to cancer. A Guinness spokeswoman says it will take about six to eight weeks to process the park's claim on the record.
