Local doctor talks about the effects of too much and too little salt in diets

How much salt is in your diet? An Austin doctor says too much is not good for you, but too little can also lead to problems. Dr. Tucker also notes that too little sodium is not a problem for most Americans. He says people may not realize they're buying it and it comes "from two main sources: processed foods in the grocery store and restaurants". He says to decrease your salt intake and keep it low, when you're grocery shopping, select foods from the perimeter of the store, things like fresh meat, fresh vegetables, fish and chicken, and avoid eating out often.
