Big Papi ties Yaz with 452nd career home run

TORONTO (AP) — Red Sox slugger David Ortiz has hit his 452nd home run, tying Boston great Carl Yastrzemski for 36th place on baseball's career list. Big Papi connected for a two-run shot to center field off Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Brad Mills in the fourth inning Monday night for his 394th homer with Boston. Ortiz hit 58 with the Minnesota Twins before joining the Red Sox. Ted Williams holds the team record with 521 home runs, followed by Yastrzemski (452) and then Ortiz. It was the 21st homer of the season for Ortiz, who ended an 0-for-18 skid against Toronto and an 0-for-11 slump overall. Adam Dunn of the Chicago White Sox is next on the career chart. He entered play Monday with 454 homers.
