Dallas woos officials for `16 GOP convention

Top Republican officials are visiting Dallas as they consider sites for the party's 2016 convention.

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus (ryns PREE'-bus) will speak to reporters about Dallas' convention bid. Also expected to appear are former Republican U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, a Democrat.

RNC officials will arrive at Dallas' Victory Plaza downtown and tour the American Airlines Center, the arena that would serve as the convention site if Dallas' bid is successful.

Dallas is competing with Denver, Cleveland and Kansas City.
