3 injured in Corpus Christi business fire

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - Two Corpus Christi firefighters and one civilian have been injured in a three-alarm store fire.

Fire Capt. Daniel Valdez says crews responded to the fire early Sunday. He says a man was inside Bernice's Resale Shop when the fire started. He had exited the building by the time authorities arrived.

About 50 firefighters worked to contain the flames. Valdez says a wall collapsed on two firefighters while they were fighting the blaze.

Both firefighters were hospitalized. One was treated and released. The other's condition is unknown. Authorities haven't released their names.

The man found at the scene was transported to a burn hospital in San Antonio. His condition is unknown.

Valdez says it's unclear what caused the fire.
