Digital signs with adjustable speed limits popping up in Texas

Here is something to watch out for on Texas roadways: TxDOT plans to start adjusting the speed limit on the northwest part of Loop 1604.    The adjustments will take place Monday in the westbound lanes of the San Antonio-area loop, between Interstate 10 and Highway 281.  KYLE-TV reports a similar system is also being tested in the Temple area.    New digital speed signs, recently installed, will display different speed limits for different driving conditions.

 One minute, a person could be traveling at 70 miles-per-hour and then have to drop down to 60 mph the next because of an upcoming accident.    Police are asking the public to be sure to obey the adjustable speed-limit signs because officers will be issuing tickets.
