Escapee from jail in Lubbock recaptured at a home

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A burglary suspect who fled from a West Texas jail while on trash cleanup duty has been caught after nearly six hours on the run.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Ygnacio Antonio Rodriguez Jr. was captured early Thursday at a home in Lubbock.

Officers detained several individuals in the investigation of the escape.

Lt. Bryan Taylor says Rodriguez turned up missing Wednesday night from the Lubbock County Detention Center. Rodriguez was working trash detail near the jail fence when he apparently went over the barrier.

Rodriguez originally was charged with burglary of a habitation in a 2011 incident. He'll now face escape charges.
