Ex-teacher pleads guilty to child porn in Texas

HOUSTON (AP) - A former Houston-area elementary school music teacher has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges.

A U.S. attorney said Monday that 33-year-old Derrick Gossett of Humble has entered a guilty plea to two counts of child pornography production. Authorities say Gossett worked at Anderson Elementary School in the Spring Independent School District at the time of the offenses.

He was originally arrested on state charges in August 2013.

Court records indicate Gossett posed as a girl on Facebook using images from a former student. He used the account to solicit photographs from boys in Texas and outside the country. Authorities say they found hundreds of images on an external hard drive of boys aged 12 to 17.
