Feds, state, locals stage raids in Houston

HOUSTON (AP) - Federal, state and local agents and deputies swarmed over southern and southeastern Houston, serving search and arrest warrants in a coordinated sweep of almost a dozen locations that included nightspots.

FBI Special Agent Shauna Dunlap says the Thursday night raids include agents from the FBI, as well as from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Harris County Sheriff's Office and Houston Police Department.

Dunlap says the reasons for the warrants were still under court seal Thursday night and would remain secret until suspects make their initial court appearances Friday before a federal magistrate in Houston.
