Houston Firefighter Arrested for Child Sex Assault

A 27-year-old Houston firefighter has been arrested on a charge of sexually assaulting a child.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Brandon Ramirez met the girl online, sent sexually explicit photos and videos of himself to her over weeks and then met her in person for a "sexual encounter."

The charge indicates the girl is from 14 to 17 years old.

Ramirez was arrested Saturday and jailed on $100,000 bond after investigators from the sheriff's child abuse division looked into the case.

Ramirez, identified Sunday as a firefighter by sheriff's spokesman Jason Spencer, is set for a court appearance Monday. Online court records didn't indicate an attorney for Ramirez.
