NASA gets a solid boost from the White House.

Austin/San Antonio representative Lamar Smith was among the Texas lawmakers who worked to get the NASA Authorization act signed into law by President Trump yesterday.  "The President talked about space in his State of the Union speech. He wants to make America's space program great again and that's what this bill will do."

Smith says he's pleased about the $19.5 billion dollars that will go towards keeping up the Webb Telescope, the space station and the Mars Rover among others. "This is the first time there's been such a bill in six years and this is going to keep NASA going. This is the bill that will fund the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. All kinds of space contracts are awarded around Texas, not just in Houston."
