Perryman Group Forecasts Growth for Texas, and Austin Area Economies

Strong economic growth for the Austin Round Rock area.  That's the forecast from economist Doctor Ray Perryman. He says thanks to the tech, biomedical and entertainment industries, the growth will remain strong.  Perryman project strong job growth over the next five years for the area. Perryman also says the economy is buoyed by the tech and support industries, medical and biotech and entertainment industries.

Despite many communities still recovering from Hurrican Harvey, the Texas economy is at a very good place. "Texas went through a really bad storm last year, but it's coming back strong," Dr. Perryman said. "Conditions are improving in the energy industry, manufacturing is expanding, and the state continues to have one of the most attractive business climates in the country."

Texas, and Austin-Round Rock MSA, over the next five years, are on track to experience positive growth . "Although countless issues could alter the course of the economy in a heartbeat, I am optimistic about what lies ahead for the US, Texas, and Austin area," Dr. Perryman said.
