Pilot dies in glider crash near Houston

HOUSTON (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a Houston man whose glider crashed in Southeast Texas.

Police say 67-year-old Rokki Ford Roberts piloted the small aircraft that departed from the Greater Houston Soaring Association airport. They say a group of gliders were flying together when Roberts' went down in an open field on Sunday afternoon.

The site of the crash is about 40 miles west of Houston near the Fort Bend-Austin County line.

The cause of the crash is unclear. Federal Aviation Administration and Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating.
