Rick Perry on the road

In Texas, Gov. Rick Perry’s indictment, booking and defiance in the face of two felony charges was a big story. But to many conservative voters in New Hampshire, which plays an outsize role in choosing presidential nominees, the events in Austin registered as little more than a far-flung hiss, lost in the rancor of the nation’s partisan politics.

During two days of meet-and-greets with New Hampshire’s politically active Republicans, Perry’s nonchalance over the indictment and focus on what he called widespread failures by Democrats to follow “the rule of law” has contributed to an apparently successful damage control effort — one that frames his legal woes as an indictment by Democrats rather than by a grand jury selected by a Republican judge in Travis County.    http://www.mystatesman.com/news/news/new-hampshire-conservatives-nonplus...
