Scoring Super Bowl tickets entails long odds, deep pockets

Conventional wisdom is that the average fan has a one in a million chance of scoring Super Bowl tickets. But the deadline is approaching for what should be a one in a hundred shot of getting inside Cowboys Stadium in February.

The NFL operates an annual drawing giving 500 fans an opportunity to buy two Super Bowl tickets each at face value.

There are usually about 50,000 requests or about a 1 percent chance. That's only a little worse than the odds of getting three numbers right on a Lotto Texas ticket.
