Sheriff's office: 3 dead in South Texas shooting

RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas (AP) - South Texas authorities say three men were fatally shot at a rural home where a live grenade was found.

The Starr County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire Sunday morning at a rural home near Rio Grande City. Inside the house they found two Honduran nationals shot to death with an assault rifle. They found a third man with a fatal wound who later died at an area hospital.

Investigators found a live grenade in a subsequent search of the home. They called the McAllen Police Department's bomb squad to dispose of it.

Authorities are searching for a 24-year-old Starr County man they consider a person of interest.

They haven't released the names of the victims.
