As President Trump continues his assault on his attorney general regarding the investigation of Russian interference in the last election, Texas Senator John Cornyn realizes the President's frustration but says he has Jeff Sessions' back because he's following the rules. "If you'd been personally involved in a political campaign, then it's pretty hard, if not impossible, to be viewed as impartial when it comes to an investigation that might involve that campaign."

President Trump has mentioned the other senator from Texas Ted Cruz for the job. Cruz has said 'thanks, but no thanks' to that offer and will stand pat; which pleases the other Texas Senator John Cornyn. "I'm glad Senator Cruz has indicated he'd prefer to stay right where he is, because we need him." Cornyn adds "and the truth is, we need a full team here in the Senate, too. We're operating at a very thin margin in a very partisan, polarized Senate."
