Questions remain about the future of security in the Round Rock school district

Williamson County’s rapid growth is one of the reasons county leaders have said they will not provide school resource officers to the Round Rock School District by 2021.

Despite being told by county Judge Bill Gravell that the district will have to find its own way by 2021, the board tonight will again discuss coming up with a new agreement with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office for school resource officers.  “Why not?” asks board member Steven Math, because Math believes this is the best option available.

The board wants to give county leaders two months to respond.  A possible Round Rock ISD police department is also still an option on the table.
