The City of Austin has postponed an idea to pay a local filmmaker nearly $700,000 over five years to create promotional videos promoting tourism and conventions. Council member Kathie Tovo said this should be something that promotes the entire city. “Provide us with some additional information between now and then, about the piece of the contract that applys to the departments other than the convention center.”
It will be discussed again in two weeks.  Council also wants to make sure the contract procurement process meets its requirements for minority and women-owned businesses.
