Gas Odor Leads to Meth Bust in Travis County

A call about an odor in the air leads to a sizeable drug bust in Travis County. According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 6:00 p.m. on May 26, 2020, deputies responded to assist the Austin Fire Department with a reported smell of natural gas in an apartment in the 1900 block of Wells Branch Parkway.

As a deputy approached, AFD reported a person running from the apartment unit. It was then determined the source of the odor was a vehicle gas tank inside the apartment. Further search of the unit led to the discovery of 30-40 kilos of methamphetamine.

The woman who lives in the apartment, Ana Angelica Jalomo, was arrested and charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance greater than or equal to 40 grams.
