The meat industry will completely be gone in 15 years. That’s what the CEO of Impossible Foods Patrick Brown says. The founder and the chief executive of the meat substitute maker made that bold claim on CNBC’s Jim Cramer show.

“This is why I think people are increasingly aware of plant based products are going completely to replace animal based products in the food world with the next 15 years. That’s our mission. The transformation is inevitable,” says Impossible Foods CEO Patrick Brown.

Companies like Impossible Foods and rival Beyond Meat have been making some money over the past couple of years. However, according to the annual Power of Meat study, animal based meat sales in the United States were $50 billion in 2019 compared to $760 million in their plant based rivals.

Meanwhile, Impossible Foods yesterday signed a deal with Starbucks for their sausage sandwich, which, by the way, is not sausage at all.
