Work Wraps Up on County Road 176 in Georgetown

Construction of County Road 176 at Parkside Parkway, which is one of the fastest growing areas in Williamson County, has been completed.  The project included realigning the intersection of CR 176 with RM 2243.  The design removes the safety hazard cause by two 90-degree turns at the intersection, the county said.

“Not only was this vital for the safety of all drivers, but it was key to improve the accessibility and use of the road for emergency personnel responding to calls. As this side of our community grows, it is my priority to also complete road projects that will add to the quality of life of my constituents,” said Williamson County Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey.

The upgrade also includes adding a little more than a half-mile of sidewalk from CR 176 to RM 2243 for pedestrians and bicycle riders. That portion of the project is expected to be completed by August, weather permitting.
