City of Austin dubs Juneteenth a city holiday as it tackles racism

As Austin City Council works on addressing racism and white supremacy, in a special session Wednesday the city leaders officially declared Juneteenth a city holiday.

Along with that, the city approved a measure to accelerate the renaming on parks, roads, monuments, and city assets with ties to white supremacy or the Confederacy.

The City also declared Racism a public health crisis.
