Austin ISD to expand wifi bus program

Austin ISD school buses
Austin ISD will continue to use Wi-Fi-enabled buses to provide free internet access to students as the school year begins.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8 until Oct. 5, Austin ISD will expand the times its Wi-Fi buses are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In addition, AISD is doubling its Wi-Fi bus fleet to 261 buses. The buses are ready to roll out on the first day of learning and will be strategically positioned at apartments and neighborhoods where they can make the biggest impact. AISD students will be able to access free Wi-Fi on their school devices. For the most current locations and times please see the Austin ISD School Bus WiFI Map.
As a reminder, the first four weeks of school, from Sept. 8 to Oct. 5, will be remote. The community may see school buses in their area, but it’s for Wi-Fi connectivity, not transportation. Buses will not be in service today due to the Labor Day holiday.
