A synchronized school day is the plan as the Austin district nears its first day.
What this means is, classes taken at home or classes taken on campus will be synchronized as best as possible, including bell schedules, core classes, PE, and social and emotional learning. Superintendent Dr. Paul Cruz says electives will also still be offered, “they will look different, but we will be meeting those needs and electives. And co curricular experiences are still going be part of the regular school experience.”
Cruz has been a vocal proponent of a hybrid option this year. But, he says this year a choice will have to be made between 100-percent online and 100-percent in-class.
