As the City of Austin staffers work to restore utilities to residents, Austin’s Mayor is decrying reports of abuse, by residents upon utility workers.
In a press conference Mayor Adler said he knows people are angry and frustrated but that the city as a whole must focus on getting through the next several days.
Adler says he is hearing reports that Electrical workers are being pelted with snowballs, rocks and even insults. “That’s not who we are as a city. And that’s the kind of behavior that just cannot happen here.”
The Mayor say Austin utility workers have been working around the clock all over the city to try and make the community safe.
