Austin woman fights off kidnapping attempt

An Austin woman out for a early jog fought off a kidnapping attempt around 5 Friday morning (1/10). Austin Police say the survivor was running southbound on Escarpment Blvd in South Austin when a dark colored car pulled up and the driver got out to strike up a conversation. Police say the man then grabbed her and tried pulling her in the car. She won that fight, but the man fled after another vehicle pulled up. 

Police are investigating. They describe the man as:

•         5’7”
•         Mid 40’s to 50’s
•         Believed to be of Middle Eastern descent
•         Spoke with an accent
•         Has black hair that is longer on top and short on the sides

The vehicle was last seen going WB on 290 a few minutes after the incident.
