After evaluating the current impact of COVID-19, the Del Valle Independent School district has opted to take additional steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 among students and staff.

“We continue to look for ways to take these additional steps, while meeting TEA’s requirements,” officials said in a press release. “In this effort, we have worked with TEA to reallocate instructional minutes within the school day. This gives the district flexibility to recapture minutes to apply to remote learning days, thus preventing a loss of funding to the district during a temporary 100% remote learning period.

Del Valle ISD is implementing 100% remote instruction from Wednesday, January 13 through Friday, January 15.

On Friday, January 15, district officials will evaluate and consult with Austin Public Health and TEA to determine the method of instruction for the following week.
