Gov. Abbott reopens Water parks and more

Greg Abbot

Pflugerville’s Typhoon Texas will be allowed to reopen with a 25% capacity limit this Friday (May 29th) since Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Tuesday, he is further easing covid 19 restrictions on businesses.

However, the governor’s new order also specifies video arcades within those waterparks must remain off limits. *CORRECTED*(See Below)

If you need to learn how to drive, the governor’s order also allows for Drivers Ed courses to resume immediately.

The updated order allows food courts to resume operations but with some further regulation and suggestions. By the order food courts must include in their safety and health policies, limiting tables to six people each, maintaining social distancing between tables, cleaning and disinfecting tables between uses, and ensuring no condiments or other items are left on tables between uses.

Recreational sports programs for adults can also resume, Sunday (May 31st). But the order states, games and competitions may not begin until June 15th.

*CORRECTION*(It was previously reported that all arcades in Texas are still shut down. That was incorrect. The updated version clarifying Arcades in Waterparks still need to be closed is correct.)
