Austin-based Tesla CEO Elon Musk is denying a report in the Austonia last month claiming the billionaire has designs on his own private airport in Central Texas.
“Not true,” Musk said in a tweet this week.
The report said Musk was considering a location near Bastrop for his private jet and for company executives.
“Tesla is 5 mins away from Austin International airport,” said Musk. “Would be silly to build another private airport, however the existing commercial airport needs another runway, as Austin is growing fast!”
Musk’s presence in the Austin area has continued to grow. Along with the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin, Neuralink, The Boring Company, and Space X all have ties to Central Texas.
