Pflugerville Greenlights EMS Contract with Allegiance Mobile Health

Pflugerville City Council takes another step toward creation of a major mixed-use development

A new agreement has been reached this week for EMS and ambulance services in the City of Pflugerville.  The Pflugerville City Council on Tuesday approved a two-year contract with Allegiance Mobile Health.  That followed a separate vote to not move forward with an interim agreement with Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2. The contract with Allegiance will begin July 1, 2022 and end on June 30, 2024 with the option for renewal for one-year subsequent terms.

During the discussion, Pflugerville City Council emphasized the need for the City to identify and work towards a long-term EMS solution.

Allegiance Mobile Health is a Texas-based private ambulance provider, but the new contract will come at no cost to the city itself. In the contract, Allegiance has agreed to provide a minimum of four Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) ambulances at all times, which are Allegiance has committed to arriving on scene for each emergency call within 7 minutes 59 seconds at least 90% of the time.

The new contract closes the book on a long, winding discussion over which entity would provide EMS and ambulance services for the city.  Discussions began a year-and-a-half ago.
