On Thursday, September 22, 2022, the City of Austin is sponsoring the City Council Candidate Forums for District 5 and 8, allowing residents to learn more about the candidates running for the open city council seats.
The City of Austin, the city’s Ethics Review Commission,. and the League of Women Voters Austin Area, will sponsor six forums for city council candidates competing in the November 8 election. Council districts that will be electing representatives include 1, 3, 5, 8, 9 and mayor.
The other districts will be chosen in 2024.
The event will be an opportunity for Austinites to listen to candidates express their views so audience members can understand candidates’ positions and make an informed voting decision.
The forum for District 5 will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the forum for District 8, which will begin at 7:30 p.m
