The Texas Department of Transportation and local engineering firm Garver will bring together more than 60 students from the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders for the #EndTheStreakTX SafetyHack Student Challenge, a hack-a-thon event focused on developing creative solutions to prevent fatalities on Texas roadways.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, student teams will spend the day brainstorming ideas to combat speeding, drunk driving, and distracted driving – the leading causes of highway fatalities.

According to TxDOT, this event will serve the Austin community – and beyond – and engage young, bright minds in fighting a critical issue.
