Dell issues laptop battery to Dell's official instructions...


Dell recalls millions of laptop batteries

Local computer giant Dell Inc. has issued a massive recall. 4-point-one million notebook computer batteries are being recalled because of a concerns they could spontaneously combust. The New York Times is reporting this is the largest safety recall in the consumer electronic industry. The Lithium-Ion batteries were made by Sony and were sent out with notebooks sold between April of 2004 until July 18th of this year.

The recalled batteries were sold with or sold separately to be used with the following Dell notebook computers:
-Latitude : D410, D500, D505, D510, D520, D600, D610, D620, D800, D810
-Inspiron : 6000, 8500, 8600, 9100, 9200, 9300, 500m, 510m, 600m, 6400, E1505, 700m, 710m, 9400, E1705;
-Dell Precision : M20, M60, M70 and M90 mobile workstations
-XPS M170 and XPS M1710.
