  • Austin City Council will vote today on an agreement between Austin Public Health and Family Eldercare to expand the Workforce First Program, which would provide more homeless people in Austin with part-time employment.
  • If approved, the $720,000 agreement would allow Family Eldercare to collaborate with several city departments to expand the program.
  • The Workforce First Program started last year and has already employed 255 homeless people in removing over 100,000 pounds of trash from Austin parks and public spaces.
