19,800 jobs were added back to Austin’s payrolls in August. The Austin Chamber of Commerce says that narrowed the pandemic-related job losses to about 50-thousand overall. The city has seen an annualized job loss of 2.7%, which is smaller than other major metros. The unemployment rate sits at 5.4%.

In March, new home listings across the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown MSA jumped to 4,714 new listings, 10.2% more than March 2023, leading to multiple markets
