It is a first in U-S history. President Trump becoming the first sitting President to be impeached twice, with 232 votes for and 197 against.
The article of impeachment levied against the President, after a mob of his supporters stormed the Capitol last week, in which five people died, including a Capitol police officer.
Democrats say the vote holds Mister Trump accountable for using charged rhetoric during the election, which led some to violence. Republicans say the vote is political posturing against a leader that leaves office in a week.
The Senate is not expected to take up impeachment until the day before the Inauguration.
