Texas added 43,400 nonfarm jobs in June, the most of any state, according to new employment data released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Texas Workforce Commission.
The gains pushed Texas to a record 14,469,600 total nonfarm jobs. Over the past year, the state added 177,900 jobs from June 2025 to June 2026, outpacing the nation’s annual job growth rate.
The report also found that 15,203,600 Texans were working in June, including self-employed workers. Meanwhile, the state’s labor force reached 15,904,900 people, an increase of 29,700 over the previous 12 months.
Gov. Greg Abbott credited the state’s continued job growth to its workforce and business climate, saying Texas continues to attract employers and invest in workforce training.
The latest figures continue a trend of steady employment growth in Texas, which has routinely ranked among the nation’s leaders in job creation.
