Austin Community College will host the grand opening of Round Rock Campus Phase 2  on Wednesday, September 26, at ACC Round Rock Campus.

The 45,000-square-foot expansion includes ACC’s third ACCelerator learning environment with more than 200 computer stations for individualized learning, general education classrooms and labs, and a social staircase where students can gather and study.

“This campus is a reflection of the community it serves. I am grateful for their continued support,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “This expansion brings Round Rock the advanced facilities and workforce programs that support the growing and thriving economy here.”

Phase 2 also includes renovations to existing facilities with specialized labs for health careers such as nursing, sonography, and surgical technology. The expansion increases campus capacity by 1,000 students.

The grand opening is free and open to the public.

ACC Round Rock Campus Phase 2 was funded by the 2014 voter-approved general obligation bonds. Other bond-funded projects that opened this year include Elgin Campus Phase 2 (opened spring 2018), Hays Campus Phase 2 (opened fall 2018), and the new San Gabriel Campus in Leander (opened fall 2018). Construction continues on the Rio Grande Campus renovations and on ACC Highland Phase 2. Both projects are expected to open in 2020.
