On Sunday night, the Austin Fire Department opted to extend the waterway ban that has been in effect since last week’s heavy rains. Fire Chief Joel Baker says the ba includes the following areas:
- Lady Bird Lake;
- Mansfield Dam downstream to Commons Ford Park; and
- Walsh Boat Landing to Tom Miller Dam.
All commercial boating is banned, with the exception of motorized commercial watercraft with a length of 40 feet or greater, on Lake Austin between Walsh Boat Landing and the Loop 360 bridge.
This ban is active until noon Wednesday, May 15, when it will be re-evaluated.
