O. Henry Middle School was placed on lockout Friday morning following reports of a social media threat.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m., school officials and Austin Independent School District police gave an all-clear.

According to AISd Chief of Police Ashley Gonzalez, the lockout was put into effect “out of an abundance of caution.”

“The threat was determined to be unfounded. School operating normally,” Gonzalez tweeted.

A lockout is when the doors of a school are locked to anyone from the outside, but operations resume as normal inside.
